Readers in Action
In this section, you’ll find great ideas, inspiring examples, resources, and tips for growing your young reader. Look suggestions that work in the classroom or at home, active parent and teacher projects, center or school initiatives, book fairs, school/library collaborations, books transformed into plays, 4-year-old authors and critics, and other great efforts to grow readers.
Readers in Action is intended to share programs and suggestions for both parents and educators who are helping children cultivate a love of books, become more accomplished readers and investigators, and increase their knowledge and understanding through books. Great books are treasures, to be read and reread just for the experience and wonder they bring. Amazing books have the power to catapult us to other worlds. They also inspire activities and projects that further bring to life the story, ideas, images, sounds, and characters.
